Hi,
New to home automation but want to control a switch with a single voice command "turn on garage light" and then have it turn off after a certain amount of time, ie. 3 minutes on it's own. I've created a routine for this so when I say "turn on garage switch" it turns it on, but I'm having a hard time finding a good method to time the 3 minutes. I've added a custom command "Start timer 3 minutes" and then followed that with turning off the garage light however the timer on our google display starts and then alerts and keeps beeping in the main room until I say stop or turn it off manually. I tried adding a "stop" command to the automation but this is ignored. Any suggestions on how to turn off the alert in an automation or to delay for 3 minutes without a timer?

Ok, figured it out for others trying to do this same thing, there is a delay start available under personal routines that can be used! For some reason this delay start doesn't show up in the household routines, seems like a bug or something.

Hey rondog,
Thanks for visiting the Community forum.
It looks like you're all good. Just wanted to add something: the delay start option is only available for Personal Routines. As you may have noticed, some features in the Personal Routines are unavailable in the Household Routines and vice versa. Check out this support article for more information.
Hope this helps.
Best,
Lovely
