Unstable Google Home Nest Groups - UGH!

GoBananas
Community Member

Google Home is often unstable when giving it a request such as; "Hey Google play iHeart Radio playlist Study Beats on Whole House". It often responds saying "Can't find Whole House make sure it's connected and turned on." It also often changes voice too, but that's a whole other thread and discussion. We use the default group from Google named "Whole House" to link our various models of seven Next speakers throughtout the house. Of course Whole House is connected, even our phones show it, and show all device connected to to Whole House, and turned on and active. Yet it fails over and over again even when rebooting devices, and phones, etc. As an advanced tech person I'm well aware of the many troubleshooting methods and keep all our devices up to date as "We run lean clean updated fast machines." This is clearly a Google issue. Goole please fix it. Thanks for reading.

It is unstable as described in my original post, guessing you did not read it. Also note the latest firmware was suppsed to update into all the Nest speakers weeks ago, yet that fails too, and there is no way for the user to push the update. Ugh! Tag - you're it.

MADDENING! Firmware finally updated, yet issue remains with no change or improvement. It can be playing a playlist on the Whole House group, then I give an instruction to play a different playlist on WHole House, it confirms as if all is good then says "Can't find Whole House make sure deveice is connected and try again." UGH! UGH! and TRIPPLE UGH!

So distressing this issue is. At this very moment Google Home is actively playing music on all of our many Nest speakers using the default "Whole House" group. If I ask it to play another play list it still 80% times fails. On the phone with Tech Support right now. Everything they have me try also fails. They don't have a solution nor an explantion. UGH! Double UGH!

And yes, the insanity continues and not just for me.

This is why we bought all these Next display speakers so we could broadcast the music across the whole house. This is an especially bad experience.
