Whenever I add something to my calendar, and give a time, the Speaker makes the time an hour long time slot, not a specific time.
When did this become the default? This afternoon?
I just want to specify a time "in two minutes" and then have the thing saved. I don't want it to save from 10:04 to 11:04

Hi there,
When using a voice command to set a calendar event the default duration has always been 1hr.
Have a look at the Google Nest help center link below for more information.

You can also leave feedback for the Google Nest team requesting that they change this in future updates.

So I should be able to change the duration of a "Add to calendar" event using the speaker, right?
And shouldn't I be able to change the default? Not every event lasts an hour, right?
I have not been able to figure out either. The speaker replies with the standard "I don't understand" line

Hi folks,
Appreciate the help here, Cathal_S.
Thanks for posting, Wainwright. If you wish to change it to your preferred duration, check out the sample command below.
“Hey Google schedule an event for me on Saturday at 8:05 PM to 8:10 PM”
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Juni

Repeating. You changed this last week. It just adds unneceassary time. And there's no way to change fix it or reset it back to the way it was, which is preferable.
1) How to you set the length of time of an event?
2) Can you set a default length?
3) How do you specify that there's no length?

Hi Wainwright,
Have you had the chance to try the sample command?

It's just more verbiage to get lost in the communication. It works when it works, if the device misses a single word it'll ask for a repeat.
Cathy is wrong. There never used to be a wordy reference to the length of an event. I've had these devices for years.
If every event is an hour, why does the device mention that? There was no need to make that change if that's the default.
The question remains, how do I reset the default to end this wordy event duration?

Not for me. When telling the Calendar to add something, anything, the speaker now replies with all this rigmarole about setting the time from the time I stated and adding an hour. It's just a waste of time having to listen through that to complete the procedure. This just started the other day.
How do you keep the replies from the speaker concise?
PS if you're right then there's not need to add all that jabber about the hour, since they're all an hour.
Either way this change in the protocols make no sense at all
