Why can't I get to my camera, and why am I paying for nothing?

I have a wired 1st Gen Nest Indoor Camera. Apparently I've been paying $8 a month for nothing -- I have no idea how I am able to watch video, or save it. I used to just login to Nest and there it was --- Now I end up logged into Google and get absolutely NOTHING. I can get to years old saved clips but that's it.

I need explicit instructions or stop this subscription to nothing.  Nest always worked fine ... until Google took over.

If you were previously logging into the Google Nest app using the "Sign in with Nest" option, you should continue using that option with the username and password you originally used to set up the app. You only use the "Sign in with Google" option if you have migrated your Nest Account to a Google Account (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9297676).  We migrated back in 2020.

If you have NOT migrated, and simply started using the "Sign in with Google" option, you're not going to see anything because you don't have a Google Nest "home/structure" set up on your Google Account.

It's been this way a long time; Google acquired Nest back in 2014.

Before we get started with further troubleshooting, let me ask you some important questions:

 

Are you signed into the Nest app or Google Home app?

Did you already migrate your Nest account to a Google account?

Are you using the same account (the one you use to sign in with your Nest app) to sign into the Google Home app?

Is it a Google account the one you use to sign?

What type of Nest Aware subscription do you have?

Is the subscription attached to the correct home structure and Google account?

Is all of your history missing or just certain portions?

Can you check the camera’s live feed?
