Youtube Kids only available in adult Profie on Chromecast

Ok so yesterday my kids were watching youtube kids on their profile on the chromecast.

Today however it's not there. Other apps are there and working. Even when I click manage apps in the kids profile it doesn't appear in the options of apps.

Youtube Kids is hhowever fully available in the adult profile set up on my chromecast.

Anyone have any ideas how to get the app back onto the kids profile?

Hello Stevros3,

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. To cover all the bases, could you please remove your kid's profile and re-add it then, check if the YouTube Kids' app will show up on the available apps for kid's profile? If the issue persists, perform a factory reset on your device. Here's a guide: How to factory reset your Chromecast.

Jennifer

Sorry for the late reply have been away, the removing of the profile & re-adding did not work. Youtube Kids still did not appear as a selectable app on their profile.

I will try the factory reset in the next say or so, just will be a pain re-adding all the logins etc.

Unfortunately after the factory reset it is still only available in the adults profile?

Hi Stevros3,

Apologize for the delays. Chiming in to ensure everything is covered here. Please check if the app is added to your kid's profile on the Family Link app. Follow the steps below to know-how:

  1. Open the Family Link app.
  2. Select your child.
  3. Tap Controls. App limits.
  4. Select your desired app.
  5. Tap Always allow. Done.

Keep us posted.

Cheers,

Muddi
