Hi There

Since i set up enhanced security on my google account. Im unable to connect my nest hub max s camera to my home. When im trying to set up nest camera in it after scanning the QR code its says it has error connecting to google and on the home home app shows off line. Restarting the hub it says link accounts. My nest accuont is link with google. I have 4 other nest cameras and all working alright with the enhance secured account except the nest hub max camera. I red about it , tried to fix it. Removed the nest hub , resetted the hub many times, the issue has not gone. Nest hub max camera cannot connect to the enhace secured google account.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you

George

Hi toto007,

We appreciate you doing the necessary steps. We also know that it can be a little bit frustrating when something's not working as it should but, since this is isolated with your Nest Hub Max, let's try other steps and get this resolved. It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first:

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router, followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

If the issue persists, try this: To eliminate network issues, please try setting up your device using a mobile hotspot. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one will serve as a router and the other to be used to set up your Google Home/Nest devices). Once done, check if your device will have the same behavior.

Best,

Dan

Hey there toto007,

Thanks for the information. May I know what Google account you are using? Is it a personalized account or the basic Google account with a Gmail domain?

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Dan

Nothing worked. With Google enhanced security the nest hub max camera doesn't work. I gave up. After brexit it's nothing 🙂

Hey there toto007,

Since you’ve set your Google Account to advance by enhancing its security, this has restricted most features with your Nest Hub Max including the built-in camera functions. Can you return your Google Account to normal to see the difference?

Thanks,

Dan

I would need because the nest hub max camera can not connect to google because of the enhanced security. says error connecting to google, but you can not unfortunately.

Hello again,

You can try to create a new Google Account, preferably with a Gmail domain to use instead of the one you have now since it has enhanced security. Click here for details about creating a new account.

Kind regards,

Dan
