google home remote not working

the digital tv remote in the google home app says that i need to download the latest software of the tv when i did just that. it was working just fine a few days ago. i deleted the app twice, disconnected and reconnected my tv to the google home app, and it still doesn’t work. does anyone know what i’m not doing or something that can help?

That certainly hasn't been easy for you ― let’s check this out.

 

What is the make and model of your TV? Is it still working in tandem with your Google Home app?  Do you have any Google Home/Nest devices that you control? What generation of Chromecast are you using on your TV?

hello dan, sorry i haven’t responded, the make of my tv is the XBR-65X900E. the google home app still works for turning the tv on and off. and it still adjusts the volume. but i just can’t use the remote portion of the app to control my tv. and no i don’t have any google home devices. i currently cannot check the generation of my chrome cast because of unrelated internet problems that just occurred.

Thank you for the information. I know it hasn't been easy especially when experiencing internet issues. About that, the guide that I sent you, have you checked it out? Since your Chromecast is working fine, it seems like we do need to focus on the virtual remote on your Google Home app. Take a look at this other guide for more information and troubleshooting steps.
