Using a hot spot at a remote site for a relative. Used my android phone to connect and setup the nest hub max. Now it wants to ring in, as well as the hub max. Thats a no go, and this location won't have a android phone with the hub, it was our objective to get the device setup to answer without a couple android phone, using the wifi hot spot
I can't find a solution so far, Tried to download the home app ontoa mac OS, and that isn't compatible. Trying work arounds but they aren't succeeding either to install the google home locally.
Another beef, the contacts of my phone are all coming up on the nest hub max if I "OK google, call blank" (insert name). I did load the contact list I need onto the device off my contacts and the google home app. But I can't have all that content getting pulled to the hub just because my device fed the setup screens. Seems no security here. If I verbally ask the device to phone someone, all my similar spelled contacts are coming up on the display from my linked phone.
Your common scenario of a family member in hospital or nursing home is the situation I am trying to serve. They can't all expect to have a android phone room held by the user, right?
why isn't subject clearer for people to search and address before they waste a day trying to fight half developed sofware?

The Nest Hub Max needs to be connected to Wi-Fi. Yes, you can do the initial setup using your phone's hot spot, but if it's going to be used at a nursing home, for example, it would need to connect to the nursing home's Wi-Fi network, if they allow it.
As far as the contacts on your phone coming up on the Nest Hub Max, you must have done something to share your contacts with the Nest Hub Max; our Nest Hub Max does not have ANY of the contacts on my phone. I'm not even sure how contacts are set up, but found this Help topic:
