"No Compatible Devices were found in your ecobee account"

Hello, I keep getting this "No Compatible Devices were found in your ecobee account" error when trying to connect my Ecobee to the Google Home app. I cleared cache and it still does not work.

I have an Ecobee 3 Lite and this help article says that I should be able to connect it to Google Home https://support.ecobee.com/s/articles/How-do-I-connect-my-ecobee-devices-to-Google-Assistant

Hi Curtis5,

Thanks for posting—let's get this sorted out. Are you using a dual-band router? If yes, is your Ecobee 3 Lite connected to the same Wi-Fi band as the Google Home app? During the linking process, did you authorize access to Google Assistant on your smart device? Try to unlink Ecobee > Uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app > Login > Link Ecobee again. Let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Alex

Hello

  • Yes, the router is dual-band
  • Yes, the Ecobee 3 Lit is connected to the same Wi-Fi band as the Google Home app
  • Yes, I authorized access to Google Assistant on my smart device
  • I unlinked the Ecobee app by Uninstalling and did the steps you describe. I also cleared the cache on Google Home and the Ecobee app too.

None of this worked, I still get the same error message. "No Compatible Devices were found in your ecobee account" error when trying to connect my Ecobee to the Google Home app.

Hi Curtis5,

Strange. Try contacting Ecobee support to check if there’s anything you need to enable from the Ecobee app. Please keep us in the loop.

Best,
Alex
