I have a Samsung Galaxy z fold 5 on android 15 and one ui 7 with the February 1st 2025 security patch level. I can't use the location starter on my google home app because it doesn't show up, I've done everything from clearing cache, deleting data, and uninstalling and reinstalling the app. I have all my location on in my phone's settings as well, this used to work completely fine until I figured out that my stuff stopped turning off when I left my house, just to figure out that the location starter is completely gone.

Hi @Random0,
Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that the location starter option has completely disappeared and your automatons aren't working as they should. I appreciate all the relevant information you provide and the troubleshooting you have done. I'm happy to assist.
To restore the functionality of your automations, I recommend using the Presence Sensing feature instead of the old Location Starter.
Please follow the steps below:
Open the Google Home app.
Tap Settings, Presence Sensing.
Toggle the on or off button to select the devices that you want to use for Presence Sensing. These devices help determine if everyone's away or someone's home.
The following article could be helpful: Supported starters, conditions, and actions for Help me create and the enhanced automation editor.
I hope this information helps.
Best regards.
Derick.

Hello Derick, thanks for reaching out. Since pretty much everything I wanna control is in my bedroom will it detect if anyone comes inside the house since I live with multiple people? I don't want it to detect the other people in the house and switch on my stuff in my room. I'm using a home/nest hub for reference and that's the only Google home device in the house that's hooked up.
Also do you think you can walk me though on how to actually activate the setting? I've been all over online and everything is so vague on how to activate presence sensing.

Hey there!
Thanks for your reply. I understand that you are concerned that the Home and Away routines could be changed if another person visits your room. The Home and Away activation is different on each Nest Hub model.
In order to provide you with more information:
I'll be waiting for your reply.
Best regards.
