Can’t get my smoke detector back online after replacing batteries

You can try resetting the Wi-Fi connection with the detector. Go to the detector settings then click on Wi-Fi connection, then click start. From there it will search for your protect and search for nearby networks, just type in the password for your network and you’re good to go. If that doesn’t work I suggest factory reset. I know it might be a pain but I have had to do it with mine like 3 times due to this same issue. Just hold down the center button of nest protect until it starts telling you the version number. From there it will automatically factory reset. Next you need to remove it from the app. Click on the detector in nest app then click on settings then scroll all the way down to where it says remove nest protect in red. Remove it then go ahead and add it again by scanning the QR code. Follow the steps and you’re good to go. Hope this helps. Wish nest would fix this issue but the only fix for me is factory reset.
