I have a few older smoke alarms. Thinking of getting a Nest Protect. If my older smoke alarms emit an alarm, will the Nest Protect hear it and alarm as well? I am also in Canada.
Thanks All,
David

No it will not. The nest's use a wireless interconnect to relay alarm status to other nest alarms only.

How is it that we get 3 replies to this but nothing to when the API will be accessible for home automation tasks?
