Can someone tell me what the difference is between these products? Both are battery-operated units. Besides the requirement of sales is not allowed without professional installation and has a longer warranty. Are there any specific differences such as during the installation that is different to model S3000BWES? Like in the Nest Pro Thermostat, it states there are installation procedures that Pros should do.
This was partially asked before and answered incorrectly and incompletely, at https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Nest-Protect/Google-Nest-S3004PWBUS-vs-S3000BWES/td-p/263442
the answer was for p/n S3003LWES which was not in the question. Also, it did not answer what "Pro" means.
I hope I explained it a little better to get the correct answer and a more complete answer.

Not to my knowledge. The SKUs are different so they can tell which qualifies for the extended warranty.
The difference between the Nest thermostats is the Nest Pro Setup option which allows a Nest Pro access to detailed parameters that the average consumer wouldn't understand and could damage their HVAC system. This option can be accessed on any Nest thermostat if you have a Nest Pro ID.

Hey utz1utz,
We don't have any information to share about this. You might want to check out this link for additional information about Nest Protect.
Thanks,

Hi,
The link "Beginner's guide to the Nest Protect smoke and CO alarm" was not helpful in answering my questions on comparing two products Nest Protect smoke and CO alarms, Unless you suggesting to follow this guide for both Google Nest Protect smoke and CO alarms S3004PWBUS Pro edition and S3000BWES?

Your community also has an incorrect answer about these products S3004PWBUS Pro edition and S3000BWES, in the link, https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Nest-Protect/Google-Nest-S3004PWBUS-vs-S3000BWES/td-p/263442 which is still available. Why would you want incorrect answers in this community?

Also, the top green bar stated "Success!" in answering my questions, when in fact just gave a link that didn't answer my questions.

This is not an official Google answer to this question.
I am a Nest Pro which means I am registered with Nest to install its products.
When a Nest Pro installs some Nests product the warranty period will get extended which is the case for the Nest Protect.
The consumer version of the 2nd GenNest Protect comes with a 2-year warranty and the 2nd Gen Nest Protect PRO which can only be purchased by Nest Pro get an additional 3 years of warranty for a total 5-year warranty.
Having a Nest Pro install a product that the consumer purchased will not earn the extended warranty. The products must be purchased and installed by the Nest Pro.
I hope this provides a better answer to your question.

Appreciate you validating one of my statements I covered in my original write-up. But, unfortunately, it didn't answer the major question, Are there any specific differences such as during the installation that is different to model S3000BWES? Like in the Nest Pro Thermostat, google stated there are installation procedures that Pros should do. Thanks

Sometimes the product expert gets it wrong.
David is comparing the consumer version of the wired and battery protects that was accurate when he answered. I don't know when the Pro version was introduced. Just a simple mix-up at the time.

Understand product specialists are human and can make mistakes. Can you or somebody else correct/remove this inaccuracy?

So because this inaccurate advice was closed by the previous Community Specialist you have to allow this inaccurate information still to be available to the public?

Yes, your assistance is needed, nobody in the Google Nest community seems to care that there is inaccurate information out there on this concern. This could lead to confusion for your google nest customers. Why would customers want to use this community when it has conflicting answers to the same concern?

Hi utz1utz,
Thanks for getting back to us and I appreciate your thought about the topic that was previously discussed from another thread. I've double checked our list of Nest Protect SKU's and S3004PWBUS Pro edition is not one of them. However, S3000BWES appears to be the Battery, White, US or CA version and S3003LWES for Wired 120V, White, US or CA version.
On the other hand, please be assured that our product team is working non-stop with different partners to bring the best to the Google Nest devices. So, please let our product team know about it by sending feedback.
Keep us posted. We're happy to help.
Best,
Zoe

Zoe,
What does S3004PWBUS Pro edition as a Nest Protect SKU's have to do with this topic? Are you trying to state this forum is not for S3004PWBUS Pro edition or any other Pro edition devices? If not, can you further explain your point because the topic was never about the difference between battery and wired devices.

Hi there,
Thanks for the follow-up, and I'm sorry for the confusion. To clarify, Google Nest currently doesn't have the Nest Protect Pro edition, and we don't have anything else to share about this product right now, but stay tuned for more news and updates. So far, Google Nest has only launched the Nest Protect (Gen 1) and Nest Protect (Gen 2).
Let us know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
Zoe

Zoe,
I think I understand your reply on this comparison can not be answered due to the Nest Protect Pro edition is no longer being supported, because Google no longer offers this item. I find this a strange policy to completely dropped support on all Google items no longer being offered are no longer supported, especially since this appears to have been offered just recently from Google. I can understand there is a point of stopping support evidently, but this seems pretty quick to stop support. As to the answer was I able to manage to see the information you shared - I was able to read your answer yes. I did not understand the bit on " stay tuned for more news and updates". Are you going to update or have news on the Nest Protect Pro edition? If not, what are you referring too?
04-25-2023 07:22 AM
Also, you didn't reply to the issue - nobody in the Google Nest community seems to care that there is inaccurate information out there on this concern. This could lead to confusion for your google nest customers. Why would customers want to use this community when it has conflicting answers to the same concern?
04-25-2023 07:41 AM
And what was the purpose of stating - "So far, Google Nest has only launched the Nest Protect (Gen 1) and Nest Protect (Gen 2)."
