Hello All,
I read in the xchanges on this forum that IFTT was earlier supported in google home but is now removed.
I see a lot of examples where I need to trigger events, like an email, whatsapp message or notification if there is a fire, or just a light that turns on, if a sensor detects something.
Are events supported in Google home, or just for some devices, or excluded.
Thanks in advance,

The starter events are a bit limited in Google Home when compared to something like IFTTT.
Hmm...It looks like IFTTT it is usable with Google Assistant. It is us curious about the posts hinting otherwise. I wonder is support is being dropped on just older products?
Hopefully someone will respond who know absolutely for sure and is using it for some creative things.
If you do try to proceed with it, share how it works for you!

Hi Garret DS,
Well, it all seems a bit complicated. I'm currently stuck with a password issue.
The first step is that I need to make Google Home aware of the Nest Protect by adding the device to Google home. Then The Nest Protect will be visible amso in Google home and I will be able t trigger events using IFTTT.
That's where I get stuck because I am asked for a password which is stored in a browser somewhere.
I'll have a try Again.

Hi metramo,
Thanks for the update. The Nest Protect is not yet supported on the Google Home app. Our team is always looking for ways to improve and we'll take this as feedback.
Thanks,
Edward

No, The Google Home app just open the Google Nest App.
After verifying that the google nest is setup, it still won't show up in Google home.
I'd really need a step by step guide on how to trigger an email when the smoke alam goes off.
