2 stage HP / 2 stage Gas Lockout

I have a Trane XL16i heat pump paired with XV90 gas furnace. 

I am set up and programmed for dual fuel, 2 cool/4 heat @ 40deg cutoff.  I hope that’s right. 

 

 

If I set the lockout temperature lower than 40deg, say 30deg,  will the Nest call for gas backup if the HP can’t satisfy the heat call in a timely manner?
