HI,
I bought 2x 2nd Gen Nest learning thermostats, upstairs and downstairs, 2x heat links also.
Installed by a Nest Pro verified installer, although he mainly does 3rd Gen.
The system works, however only as one zone. When upstairs is turned on, downstairs also comes on and vice versa, wasting heat and money.
The challenging thing is that, when the heat links buttons are pressed on the box, the heating zones do work independently. It is only when i request heat from the app or the thermostat that they turn on together.
Installer has been back out and checked his work, verified the voltage and wiring is correct and is convinced it must be a software issue on Google's side.
I contacted google support via chat, talked them through it, sent them a picture of the heat link wiring.
They suggested there should be a bridge between L and 2 on the heatlink, but the installer said that he has wired that through the junction box any way and the voltage is all sound.
Don't know what to do no because 2nd Gen is no longer manufactured.
Any ideas or anyone had same experience?

Hi there @AGreen89.
Thanks for letting us know. The correct installation requires the bridge from L to 2, otherwise the thermostat won't work as expected.

I'm just in the area and wanted to see if the answer my colleagues gave it to you was helpful. Let me know if you have more questions.
