2nd gen Nest thermostat offline/ no power

Gra2

My 2nd gen Nest thermostat (installed in 2014) is connected to the furnace boiler. For quite a long while now it has been failing -- intermittently -- to signal the furnace pilot to ignite. The Nest display says (not the exact wording) that the thermostat has no power and is offline. I must ignite the furnace manually to restore heat to the home.

I'd appreciate help diagnosing this issue. Is the battery low? Is the thermostat itself failing?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Hi Gra2,

Thanks for reaching out. I'd like to take a closer look at it. To confirm, in what country are you located? Checking your thermostat Energy History will tell you what your Nest Thermostat is doing previously. Also, please gather your thermostat's power reading.

Check out this guide:

  1. Go to your thermostat Quick View menu.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Look for Technical Info.
  4. Select Power.

Please keep me posted.

Best,

Jenelyn
