My old thermostat was using Y G R and O/B connections. So I transferred the wires to the exact same configuration and my heat is only blowing cold. Help!!

Hi! I’m not a pro but I remember seeing this issue described on this support page. Check out the “Change the O/B wire settings” section. Hope it helps!

Hi Riddlerbel,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community forum. We're sorry for any trouble this may have caused you. I'd be happy to shed some light on your situation here. You can change the O/B terminal settings using the app or the device itself depending on the device you have, it's on the support page shared by @equivokate. You can follow the steps below if you haven’t gone into the website.

Nest Thermostat

  1. Open the Home app Google Home app.
  2. Tap your thermostat.
  3. At the top right, tap Settings .
  4. Select Thermostat.
  5. Scroll until you find Heat pump. It should show which wire configuration is currently selected.
    • If the O option is highlighted, select B.
    • If the B option is highlighted, select O.
  6. To make sure the issue is resolved, test your heating and cooling again.

Nest Learning Thermostat and Thermostat E

  1.  On your thermostat, go to Settings Nest settings icon.
  2. Select Equipment.
  3. Select Continue and then Continue.
  4. Select Heat Pump.
  5. The Nest Thermostat defaults to an O setting for heat pumps.
    • If the O option is highlighted, select B.
    • If the B option is highlighted, select O.
  6. To make sure the issue is resolved, test your heating and cooling again.

Thanks for sharing the input here, @equivokate
