I really don't know if anyone from Google even looks at any of this, but I really don't know where to begin. I did call customer service, but they just told me to to back to place of purchase (Best Buy,) and ask for a refund for product. Here's what happened-woke up on 3/1 and noticed one of our Nest controlled HVAC units was "short cycling"-essentially turning on and off about every 90 seconds. Tried to turn it off using the app. Although it showed it was "off" it continued the short cycling. I then tried to turn it off manually using the thermostat. It acknowledged it was "off," but again, the system would not shut off. I had to cut power at the panel box to finally turn the unit off. Electrician came and diagnosed that the "thermostat was sending intermittent signal to rooftop unit causing it to short cycle. and thermostat off the wall 24 volts signal was still present between Y and common." The short cycling damaged the condenser motor and the main contractor switch, requiring replacement of both, resulting in over $1900 worth of repairs. I'd like Google to share in the cost of this repair.
