Recently purchased a nest thermostat that I was told was comparable with my system but when I plugged the wire labels in the installation program it said it was not. Wondering if it is actually not or if it is an issue with the program. It is a low voltage electric system with a 8 wire connection. The wiring is below and any help would be greatly appreciated. the photos above are of the current wiring and I am trying to wire in a base model nest thermostat.

Hi Austin334,

Thanks for reaching out and for providing the photo of your old wiring.

Based on it, you have a heat pump system. Most commonly, the O and B wire is for the heat pump. For the Nest Thermostats we're only using one wire that should connect to the O/B terminal. It's unusual to have two 24V common, so we need to rule out the purpose of the B wire.

Could you please share the photo of your system's control board?

I’m looking forward  to your response

Regards,

Jenelyn
