Hi,
I've installed a new HVAC system 2 years ago.
Now while working from home I noticed some stuttering sound coming from the AC unit whenever the AC needs to start. Sometimes the AC is on and it stops and start making this noise as well.
I've called the AC guys multiple times and they replaced fan and control board, but issue still there.
They have now pointed out that this is a problem on the nest thermostat and they might be right after all.
Reading on other posts, one of the recommendation is switching the G and Y1 wires. When I do that the AC works perfectly, but when I swap them back to original position the problem starts again.
I cannot keep the cable switched because with my fan schedule and fall season, every time the fan turns on, it will actually turn ON the AC, not the fan.
Is this a bug on the latest firmware from NEST? How to fix that?

No. The problem persists. There is nothing good here. I will probably replace my nest devices because this is unacceptable. The NEST devices are causing more harm to the system and my power consumption than good...

Hey there,
Sorry to hear that you're still having issues with this as I'm sure it's frustrating, but I'm happy to help.
Since we are not certified electricians here on the forums, I would suggest contacting a pro to come out to help you with this since I know that the Nest thermostat is not compatible with stranded wires, every wire has to be connected to the Nest Thermostat system.
Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns as I'm happy to help.
Best regards,
Garrett DS

Yes, I fixed the problem: I'm selling my next thermostat and buying new Amazon thermostats. Using those for last 2 weeks and no problem.
So, the major flaw I think is that this product is that it does not use the C cable where it would have a continue source of power to run.
Looking at many websites and forum from HVAC professionals, you can see the same feedback: do not use nest!
Looks like they were correct..
