Air conditioner not working during heatwave

My poor grandmother who is 89 years old was stuck in 97° today in her home during a 112° 🥵 heatwave today! I tried to overide all the energy saving settings manually and with the app. It will pretend to go on for about 15 minutes then it say cool down in two hours, well, that has been all day!!!! I turned it off, then back on. I even tried using the energy saving safety feature for over heating and it just sent me an alert. We are in a major heatwave this week and her air conditioner refuses to turn on. It's stuck on a 2 hour standby and this is very dangerous for my grandma.

It sounds like a serious situation, especially given the extreme heat and your grandmother's age. Here's what you can try to resolve this:

1. Turn off all energy-saving modes: Make sure that every energy-saving mode or schedule is completely disabled, both on the unit and through the app. Sometimes these features can override manual settings.

2. Check for a system reset: Many air conditioners have a way to reset the entire system. Try turning off the air conditioner completely at the breaker for a few minutes and then turning it back on.

3. Manual mode: If the unit has a manual mode (without app control), try switching to that to bypass the smart functions and force it to run continuously.

4. Contact support or a technician: If these steps don’t work, immediately contact the manufacturer’s support or a local HVAC technician. Given the extreme temperatures, they might prioritize your request.

5. Emergency cooling measures: In the meantime, consider moving your grandmother to a cooler area or using temporary cooling solutions, like fans, cold towels, or portable AC units.

The situation is dangerous, so resolving this as soon as possible is essential! Stay safe.
