Ambient temp

LRaver
Community Member

The ambience house temperature is reading much higher at 83 and then it is in the house which is causing the heat not to kick on. I have read the other forums on this and followed all the steps and it’s not working yet. I tried to get someone to call me, but that seems to not work either as it says there was an error on the page where I put in my information. Can someone please help me or call me?

Hi @LRaver,

Thank you very much for contacting the community! I understand that your thermostat is reporting an incorrectly high ambient temperature of 83 degrees which is preventing your heater from activating. Given the circumstances, I appreciate you taking the time to check other forums regarding the situation and for attempting to contact technical support. I apologize for the error on the page, but don't worry—I'm here to help!
I'd like to ask a few questions to ensure I provide the most relevant troubleshooting steps:

  • This thermostat you're talking about, is it a Nest Thermostat? If so, which one?
  • Are you located in the US or the UK?
  • When was the thermostat installed?
  • When did the issue start?
  • You mention that you have read some forums and that you have performed some troubleshooting steps; I'd like to confirm which steps you have already taken?
  • Any recent changes to the HVAC system?
  • Any recent power outages or power issues?
  • Do you have any other thermostat in your house? If so, are you having the same issue with the other thermostat?

Please feel free to share any additional details you think might be relevant.

Best regards,
Eduardo
