Anyway to transfer settings from 2nd Gen to 4gen?

Just got the end of life notification for my 2nd Gen thermostat and was wondering if there is an easy way to transfer my settings

I searched and from the few posts I found seems it has to be done manually but this seems silly for a device with cloud services. I don't want to lose my schedules and settings if I upgrade

agreed! if Google is ending support, they should provide an automated way to transfer this information over. I dont want to lose my history either!

I mean if they don't have this already it's surprising. Also it's not like the backup would have multimedia. Most people simply want to transfer their settings and schedule so that way they don't have to reenter everything manually which is a pain in the ass. If Google doesn't offer an option for this by near the cutoff date I might just switch to another smart thermostat company

Hey fidorulz,

Thanks for reaching out! I understand you'd like to know if there's a way to transfer settings from your 2nd-gen Google Nest Learning Thermostat to a 4th-gen one. I'm happy to help!

I apologize, but currently, there isn't a direct way to transfer your settings to the Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen.). Once you set it up, you'll need to configure the settings manually.

If you'd like more information about offers and recommendations related to the earlier generation Nest Learning Thermostats, you can visit Support changes to our earliest generation Nest Learning Thermostats.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Regards,

Manuel

Thanks for the info. Guess I'll be looking at other smart thermostat companies at this point since not only do I have to ditch out money to keep my existing services but my settings and what my thermostat has learned from my habits will be lost
