On Auto Learning schedule

Started to learn set to 19.5 once it gets to 19.5 the thermostat cuts of the boiler and the radiators cool down, it takes a while to drop down to 19 before the boiler cuts in again, making the room feel cold again. This is not a very good system at least the old thermostats none smart types you can keep the temp constant. How can this be done with the Nest Learning and at what temp will the boiler kick in once it has stopped at the desired setting of 19.5. Manual schedule is the same problem regarding when the boiler kicks in after temp has been reached

Hi Thenamesle,

Thanks for posting. The Nest Learning Thermostat optimizes energy efficiency while maintaining comfort, but may take time to learn your preferences. Regular monitoring and adjustments can help balance comfort and energy efficiency. Below are some factors to consider if you're experiencing issues with the Nest Learning Thermostat or manual schedule causing the boiler to turn off and the room temperature to drop before it kicks in again.

  1. The Nest Learning Thermostat operates with a temperature differential, allowing temperature fluctuations before turning on or off the heating or cooling system. This is designed to prevent frequent cycling of the HVAC system, which can be inefficient and damaging.
  2. Adjusting the temperature settings can be done to maintain a more consistent temperature range.
  3. Some Nest thermostats offer the option to adjust the temperature differential through advanced settings, but this may impact energy efficiency and system cycling.
  4. The heating system's behavior, including the time it takes for the boiler to kick in after reaching the desired temperature, can be influenced by factors like system size, insulation, and boiler response time. If you believe the behavior of your heating system is not optimal, it may be worth consulting an HVAC professional to ensure it is functioning correctly.
