Automatic hot water

I moved into my house and there was a nest already installed.  I have never had a hot water schedule on with my nest. My hot water comes on every other day or so by itself, which I’ve read it’s to stop bacteria building up in the system. But it always lasts us until the next time the hot water comes on so I’ve never really bothered with it.
I've been noticing my electric bill has been extremely high (1300kw for 3 months for 2 people in a small 3 bed) and we are out quite a bit.

Would this hot water be some sort of immersion heater that could be affecting my electricity usage?

thanks, James

So I just went to my water schedule on the app and it was on the default settings of 2 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the evening, but I haven’t noticed the hot water on for these lengths of time on the thermostat in the kitchen during these hours. Would it have been on anyway? Could have have affected my electric bill?
thanks

Hi there! I'm so sorry to hear about this issue, but I'm more than happy to help out. Could you please turn off the Auto-Schedule by going into Settings -> Nest Sens -> Auto-Schedule. Please monitor the situation and keep me posted.

the automatic water was coming on via the anti bacterial settings and auto schedule was set to off. I’ve now turned off the anti bacteria build up setting and started a hot water schedule. Hoping this helps, will check my electricity after a month to see if there’s any change and let you know
