I recently upgraded from an older version of Nest to the newer Gen 4.
On my prior next when the Auxiliary (or Emergency Heat) was on the display unit would notate with with an written indicator on the display unit.
The new Gen 4 does not show this. I am wondering if I am missing something or if it just does not show.
I have a heat pump and I wired the unit the exact same way my prior unit was wired and everything seems to be working fine, outside of no visual indicator on when the regular v auxiliary heat is being used.

Hi @Player1138,
Thank you for your reply. I appreciate the pictures and information you provided about your Nest Learning Thermostat 4th gen. It sounds like the thermostat is functioning correctly, and the only issue is the missing Aux Heat indicator. I am happy to provide you with more information.
The Nest Learning Thermostat 4th Gen does not display a dedicated "Aux Heat" icon on the main screen when auxiliary heat is active. This thermostat manages auxiliary heat automatically and seamlessly using its Heat Pump Balance feature. This design prioritizes comfort and efficiency, allowing the system to use the most effective heating source without requiring you to constantly monitor the active heating stage.
For a more detailed understanding of how your thermostat manages this function and to explore your system's settings, please refer to the article: Heat Pump Balance.
Feel free to keep posting if you have more questions.
Regards,
Gabriela

Just to clarify it seems that the thermostat is working properly. The heat and cool settings seem to be working. I just noticed that when the heat is on the old Nest would say on the display when the Aux Heat was on. The new nest does not seem to indicate that. So I was wondering if that is something it should show or if no longer indicates that.
The wiring is below.
Thanks
