Request for Full Refund Due to Repeated Device Failures and Refurbished Replacements

Dear Nest Support Team,

I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with the quality and reliability of the Nest thermostat devices I recently purchased. Within a span of just three months, all three units I bought failed—an outcome that is completely unacceptable for products marketed as premium smart-home devices. All devices failed with the same error. Failure to connect to a wireless network.

Adding to my frustration, each failed thermostat was replaced, under warranty with a refurbished model rather than a new unit. All devices were purchase through Amazon, a certified vendor.  As a customer who paid full price for brand-new products, I find this practice troubling and unfair. Receiving refurbished replacements for devices that were defective almost immediately after purchase leaves me feeling misled and, frankly, scammed. The return process gets even more aggravating as I am asked to pay full price for the refurbished until they evaluate my return.

 

Given the repeated failures and the unsatisfactory replacement process, I no longer have confidence in the reliability of these thermostats. I am formally requesting a full refund so that I can pursue an alternative product that meets the expectations set by its manufacturer.
