Basic Nest thermostat bought in 2022 activation

Hi, I had installed this to replace old tradition controller. The device reads continue setup on Home app.

Google Home app wont allow me to add it without activation. It is asking for a utility device.  when I click the link, it says the app is old version and wont work on my Pixel 8. How do you activate this thermostat without the utility device app?
