Battery low offline

I've had my Best Learning Thermostat for about 8 years.  It's been great, I love it. However recently I've found bit losing wifi connection. If never pulled it to charge via USB before however after doing this for half an hour and reconnecting it to the base the battery voltage is basically unchanged. While it's over 3.6v it didn't get back to above 3.7. I saw somewhere that is got to get up above 3.7 to function properly again.

Looking at my router it looks like it connects - disconnect and connect again.

Do I need to replace the battery as it doesn't seem to want to charge up.

Hi PCURRY57,

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. I'd like to take a closer look at it. Could you please provide your Nest Thermostat power readout? You can follow the guide below.

Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E:

  1. Go to your thermostat Quick View menu.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Look for Technical Info.
  4. Select Power.

Try to charge your thermostat again using a micro USB cable and monitor its power readings. To confirm if it's a battery or Wi-Fi issue, please disconnect your thermostat to your Wi-Fi network. If the battery doesn't drain, then the issue is likely a poor Wi-Fi connection, and the battery behavior is only a symptom.

Best,

Jenelyn
