Installed a new nest thermostat. Added the power module. Setup seems to be working on until I get to a step where is says to continue setup I need to change the batteries. I have changed them keep getting the battery message and see no way to continue the setup.

You're right. Persistent low-battery messages on a Nest thermostat can be annoying. Here's a breakdown of the potential causes of it:

1. Loose Connections:

  • Double-check that the thermostat is seated securely on the base and all wires are inserted correctly into the terminals.

2. Damaged Hardware:

  • Inspect the pins on both the thermostat display and baseplate for any damage that might hinder communication.

3. Power connector installation:

  • Verify if the Power Connector is wired according to the installation guides. Doing so ensures the thermostat receives enough consistent power.

While you're checking the connections on your thermostat. Remove the batteries for about an hour, clean the contacts, and reinsert them. That way the thermostat will restart and you can try the setup once again

Let me know how it goes.

Angel.
