Blue wire not working right

When we hooked up the blue wire the nest lost power. Hooked up without and it says low power. Any ideas?

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear your Nest thermostat is not getting power when connecting the blue wire. I appreciate you sharing your experience of hooking it up without the wire and then getting a low power message. I'm happy to help.

In order to determine the reason for this, please provide the information requested below:

  • What is the model of your Nest thermostat?
  • What type of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system do you have?
  • Is there a wiring report or error message on your thermostat, Nest app, and/or Google Home app when the blue wire is connected?
    • If so, what exactly does the error message say?
  • Please provide a photo of the wiring connected to the base of your Nest thermostat.
