I have a 3rd Generation Nest thermostat which I only recently had installed. I have a problem where the Boiler/Pump always seem to be on. I have to turn off the boiler to stop it. I have a traditional y plan system with a hot water tank.
-Heating seems to work. If I set the heating to 'off' the radiators will not be hot.
-The pump by the tank is audible all the time.
-The water will always be hot.
-I have a schedule setup to turn on the hot water twice a day.
-The Hot water is set to 'off' on the thermostat.
-The bacteria prevention setting is disabled.
Previously I had a traditional timer and the hot water would turn off/on correctly with the programmer. It was installed by a gas fitter of many years experience but with no experience of Nest thermostats. He isn't sure why it's not working but thinks it is possible the thermostat on the tank is faulty.
