Can't connect two nest thermostats to Nest app

rstubbie7

I just had a new Trane heat pump installed in my house and the contractor supplied two Nest Learning Thermostats (we have two zones, upstairs and down). Originally I had an issue connecting either thermostat to the Nest app. Finally figured out I first needed to delete the old thermostat (old furnace had an old Nest). Once I did that it worked perfectly. I went upstairs to add the second unit and got the same issue I had before. Is there a secret I don't know to getting the second thermostat to come up in the app? I get the error code TD013(4096). Everything was professionally installed. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi rstubbie7,

Thanks for reaching out and we're sorry for the delay.

If you're still getting the error message whenever you try to add your 2nd Nest Learning thermostat to the app, you could try to do a complete factory data reset on that specific thermostat.

Also, check out this link for more details on TD013(4096) code.

Let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Ryan

In the end I got it to work. My wifi unit has two networks on it, a faster one that, when it works, is great and a slower one that is more reliable. I tend to use the faster one for everything. I tried using both networks and mixing them up. Finally, after having tried all the combinations, I connected everything to the slower network and it ended up working. Have no clue why it didn't work before but all is fine now. thanks for getting back to me.
