Cannot figure out how to set up a schedule

I have a Nest thermostat model 1.4.

(The tech info makes no mention of the text name of the device).

The Home app simply does not provide any Scheduling capabilities.

So I tried the Nest app. Scanning the QR code from within the Nest app tells me I need to use the Home app.  How do I set up a schedule?????

Hi Bkatlanta,

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. I'm sorry for the trouble this may have caused you. I'd like to help.

Going over the steps here might help:

View the temperature schedule

  1. Open the Google Home app  .
  2. Select your thermostat.
  3. Tap Schedules.

Add a new temperature

  1. Open the Google Home app  .
  2. Select your thermostat.
  3. Tap Schedules.
  4. Choose the day of the week you want to add a new temperature to.
  5. Tap Add.
  6. Select the temperature preset you want. You may want to edit an existing preset or create a new preset if the temperature you want is not there.
    • Note: If you edit an existing temperature preset, it will update everywhere it's used in the thermostat schedule.
  7. Select the time.
    • Touch and drag the numbers up and down to change the time.
    • Only available times will be selectable to prevent time conflicts. Adjacent temperatures in your thermostat's schedule must be at least 60 minutes apart.
  8. If you'd like, select other days of the week you'd like this temperature to occur (for example, Tuesdays and Thursdays).
  9. Tap Done to save the changes.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Jenelyn

Not quite accurate. The Schedule feature is buried inside the Gear button not on the device's main page. Need to update your documentation! This is the single most important feature for the thermostat. Really dumb to hide that feature inside another menu.
