Cannot use nest temperature sensors as starters in Google automation

It is not possible to select a nest sensor in Google home automations. I need to have the heating come on if a specific sensor is at a low temperature, similar to “safety temp” but do not have want that sensor to be the control for the whole zone (I am in an old house with a single zone)
