Hi Jake1102,

Thanks for posting here in the community forum and for showing interest in our Nest Thermostats. Could you list down where the wires are connected on your current thermostat? Some of the wires are blocking the terminals, and I couldn't identify them. On the other hand, you may use our Compatibility Checker to determine if a Nest Thermostat is compatible with your heating and cooling system.

Keep us posted. We're happy to help.

Best,

Zoe

I spent the last couple of days chatting with support and they told me that the learning thermostat is compatible. Just not sure how.

Hi there,

Yes, your thermostat wires are compatible with our Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd generation and should be wired to the Nest Learning Thermostat base as follows:

  • B wire (24 V) to C terminal
  • O wire (reversing valve) to OB terminal
  • W wire (heat) to W1 terminal
  • Y wire (cool) to Y1 terminal
  • RH wire (power) to RH terminal
  • G wire (fan) to G terminal terminal

Also, here's a guide for the installation and setup of a Nest Learning Thermostat

Thanks,

Zoe
