Connecting Samsung and I phone to the same thermostat

Hoe can I connect a Iphone and a Android phone to the same thermostats . The Nest is set up on an IPhone and my wife has an android . When we try to set up on the android it keeps wanting us to go thru the install process. Shouldnt we be able to open the app and access it thru the app by username and password. Thanks
