Connecting to thermostat

Thanks for your response. In the evening when I arrived up North in Michigan at a vacation home, I wasn't able to get the thermostat to show a WiFi connection, also showed low battery so I installed new batteries and did a factory reset. When that didn't work, I tried to reinstall the thermostat and ended up with the thermostat not working because I couldn't get it to be recognized. Since it was getting cold, I reinstalled my old thermostat. 
 
In the morning, I removed the app from the phone and reloaded it. I also turned off the thermostat power this time during the installation. The thermostat recognized my signal this time around and is now working fine and I have returned home. I did lose any nest credits I had, but not sure what they even mean.
 
I have an Apple Iphone. I believe I have a Nest Learning thermostat, 1st generation. Got it through a Consumers Power program.

Hey JohnHenry,   I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with this. No worries, we'll check this out. What phone are you using to set it up (Android, iOS)? What type of Nest thermostat do you have? Thanks for the update — I'm glad to hear you've successfully added your thermostat back. Please note, removing the Nest Thermostat from the account will clear all the account based history such as subscription, schedule, and energy history. Please let me know if you have other questions or concerns, as I'll be willing to assist you further.
