Connecting wires? Am I doing it right?

What do I do with the black wire and the letter C that has no wire? I just matched colors.

You are inserting the wires wrong they go in the side holes not those holes. First push the tab down and insert then let go.

Was the blue wire connected to the old tstat? That is usually the C wire but it also has to be connected to the C screw inside the air handler for it to be used as a C wire so you have to go to your system remove the cover and look if blue is on the C terminal screw. If not connect it and then put in C on the Nest.
