Cooling

got home today after about 36 hours away. Was 89 degrees In my house. I set the thermostat to 70. 4 hrs later it’s only down to 79 and is still very hot. Was working fine before. Is there any reason why it is taking forever to get colder?

We don't have a Nest thermostat, but this does not seem like a thermostat problem. If our house got up to 89 degrees inside, I wouldn't be at all surprised for it to take 4 hours for our A/C to get it down to 79 degrees, especially if it was still hot outside.

Hi folks,

@MplsCustomer, thanks for the help!

@Edcharsh, thanks for reaching out. I'd love to know more about this. Is there a delay message on your Nest Thermostat when you set the target temperature?

Thanks,

Edward
