Current temperature display

When set to heat and cool mode (where you set a high and low temperature and it will activate heat or cooling as necessary) there is a 3 degree window which the temperature maintains.  When in this mode, if current temperature is within the requested temp, the current temp is not displayed.  How can I make it be displayed? Why is the current temperature not displayed?

Open the Nest app and tap your thermostat on the home screen. You’ll see your current and target temperatures in the Nest app, just like on your thermostat. Check if your Nest Thermostat display first, look for the current temperature.

You can also try to check your settings in your Nest Thermostat. If you have a 3rd gen Nest Learning Thermostat, you can enable or disable Farsight in the Display menu. Farsight can display information on your thermostat screen when it notices you enter a room. You can choose what to display:
  • Target temperature
  • Current temperature

Yet again this isn't strictly true, nor a complete answer to the question.

The thermostat certainly can show the internal temperature when heating is active. When the schedule is set for a lower temperature (effectively heating OFF), then both the app and the thermostat merely show the requested temperature (with a green leaf!) No amount of taps on the app change it from this display in this mode. I agree Farsight can display, albeit briefly, the current inside temperature. When scheduled heating is activated, then the current internal temperature is displayed on the thermostat dial.

The outside temperature is shown on a separate line in the app. Why can't the app be made to show the current inside as well as outside temperature on a separate line?

Would love to see the app upgraded to show this also.

Ditto- really useful to have current indoor temp displayed and labeled next to outdoor temp!
