Device not clicking when mounted on wall

zoozpatoot

I setup my nest thermostat yesterday. All the wiring is working fine, i can control the temperature just fine but i cant click the display in to get the menu to pop up. When i detatch the device from the mount i can click it fine so i know the device works fine, but when its on the wall there isnt enough travel to register the click. I used the provided mounting plate, could that be the issue?

Double-check and ensure all of the wiring is flush with the base plate. If any extend past it it can interfere with the thermostat operation.

Hi Zoozpatoot,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I understand that your Nest thermostat  is on the wall there isn't enough travel to register the click. I'm happy to help you!

To help me find the best solution, I'll need to ask you a few questions:

  • When did the inconvenience start?
  • Is there any damage on the Nest thermostat?
  • What kind of Nest thermostat do you have?
  • To help us get a better picture of what's happening, do you mind sharing a photo in the back of the Nest thermostat and where is not clicking on the wall?

@Patrick_Caezza thank you for your help.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Rusell.
