Discounted Nest Learning Thermostats on Amazon and eBay: real or fake?

Nest Learning Thermostats (3rd Generation) are available on websites such as Amazon and eBay, claiming to be brand new authentic products at prices as low as $169.

For example, see Amazon item number B07KNFSXFV. The seller, Advanctech, claims that this is a brand new 3rd Generation Nest Learning Thermostat, Google item number T3018US. The price is $189, which is $60 less than the regular retail price.

Another example is eBay item number 185818197765. The seller, ScullyRoad Online, makes the same claim about this item as the Amazon seller above. The price is $172.95, or best offer, which is $76.05 less than the regular retail price. 

Are these items (and others like them) authentic Google 3rd Generation Nest Learning Thermostats, or are they counterfeit or refurbished or of lower quality in some way?
