Good day. Can you advise if I have a defective thermostat?

I charged the nest with a usb for atleast an hour and it loads up and show the home icon after a while it says to attach the nest into the base which I did but soon I attach it to the base it gives me a message that I have to reattach. I cant pass this section. Do you guys think I have a defective nest?

Hey JcKobeLiam,

Thank you for reaching out.

It's possible that your Nest Thermostat isn't detecting the wire from the base. You could remove the base and make sure that all wires are properly inserted before putting the thermostat back.

Note: Please turn off your main HVAC switch before checking your wire.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Ryan

Hi Ryan

the electrician was unable to install and activate my Next thermostat and said it was faulty.  When I got a new one he was able to install without any problem.  I need to return and get a refund for the faulty thermostat.  I bought it from Ashford Heating in Staines Middlesex but they are no prepared to take the thermostat back and give me a refund, they have said I must contact Nest direct.
