Since we got new phones - Samsung a52 - our nest thermostat regularly shows the wrong weather on farsight weather, but it's not regular.
Sometimes it's right then 10 minutes later it's changed to something very different.
I have gone through through the suggested fixes with no success. Nest app and Google home both know what our address is. Weather.com shows the right weather for our address.
What other weather data might be influencing the Nest? I thought maybe ISP location, but I can't work out how to stop that playing a role (and it's weather is different again to what we see)
Any ideas? I have become obsessed with fixing it!

Hi adamlaws1974,
Thanks for reaching out here in the community.
The weather information shows in a Nest thermostat display depending on the data being fetched from the weather service provider online.
Other than checking the location is correct from the thermostat, we could also try the steps here and let us know how it goes by replying to this thread.
Best regards,
Ryan

Done all those things except inputting the address on the actual unit. I can't find a location option in the settings menu.

So the app knows the temperature outside as above. Photo of the nest at the same time. So how do I teach it where it lives. Surely it's referring to the app?

Hello Ryan
My nest still varies between the correct temperature display for our location as well as something that us generally much warmer.
I have gone through the steps recommended in the link repeatedly with no change.
However my Nest thermostat has no "location" option under the settings menu as described in the troubleshooting. It's difficult to photograph something that isn't there.
It used to be fine and worked perfectly. Now it's just a source of frustration.

Hey adamlaws1974,
Thanks for the reply.
It is quite unusual for a Nest Thermostat to not show the location in the settings. Have you tried doing a complete data reset already? This could detect some updates and shows everything in the settings.
Let us know how it goes by replying to this thread.

Ryan

Are you a Bot Ryan?
You understand that people have lives and don't drop everything to respond as soon as you post right?
None of your solutions work I am afraid. Your device is referencing weather that is not aligned with its location.

Hi adamlaws1974,
I am sorry you feel that way about me. We were trying our best to provide troubleshooting to help everyone here in the Google Nest Community.
I'd like to know if you'd try the complete data reset on your Nest Thermostat. Once done, we could reconnect it to the Wi-Fi and it should download an update when it's available.
Regards,
Ryan

I have not changed anything but the farsight weather seems to have been accurate the few times I have checked today.
Close the thread as that appears to be the primary goal here
