Feature Request: Run fan based on difference between remote sensor and thermostat

I’m a little surprised this feature isn’t available, but it would be nice if we could set the nest thermostat to automatically run the circulation fan if the temperature varies between the thermostat and remote sensor by a certain amount. This would allow the fan to attempt to balance the temperatures in various rooms without triggering the heat or cool features.

Hi Tmwolfe,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry that you're having trouble setting up your fan on your Nest Thermostat automatically. Let's work together to find a solution.

If your system has a separate fan wire with a G terminal, you can run the system fan when it's not heating or cooling. If not, your fan will only run automatically when your system is heating or cooling.

Here is an important article you can review for more details about fan control with your Nest Thermostat.

Also, we're always looking for improvements; please share your thoughts and experiences and submit them to the feedback form so we can better address this concern in future updates.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Regards,

Byron
