Giving manual control of thermostat to tenant

Herefordlight

Bought a GN thermostat from my local electric Co. for $1.  Usually $79.99+ so I assume it is a basic model.  Works fine for us, although it is touchy when swiping.   My question is, how do I allow manual temp control of the thermostat, i.e. remove "schedules",  by my tenants?  I simply want them to be able to set their own A/C temp.

How do I do this?   Thank you.

Hi Herefordlight,

Thanks for posting in the community! That's a fantastic deal on a Nest thermostat. I understand you're looking for the best way to allow your tenants full manual control over the temperature, essentially removing any set schedules and preventing automatic adjustments.

To provide you with the most accurate steps, please first tell me your specific Nest thermostat model. You can find guidance in our help article: How to tell which Nest thermostat you have. Knowing your model will allow me to give you precise instructions on disabling features like Auto-Schedule and Home/Away Assist, so your tenants can simply set their desired temperature.

In the meantime, you might find helpful information on managing schedules in this article: Learn about Nest thermostat temperature schedules and how to change them.

I look forward to your update.

Regards,

Humberto
