Google Nest Thermostat Wiring trouble

I haven't having a lot of trouble getting the wiring configuration correct on my nest. I took a photo of my old thermostat wiring configuration which has six.

And here is my Google Nest wiring configuration which was me following an instructions but all I get is the heater turning on I can't seem to get any cold air.

Can anyone tell me what I've got wrong here? I'm real confused. 😭

You might be experiencing an intentional system delay in the A/C compressor.  If it's been off for a long period of time (weeks, months due to winter climate), the oil in the compressor needs to warm up before the compressor will start.  Many have internal heaters to accomplish this requirement.  It might take 5-6 minutes.  Also, again if you're in a winter climate, it may not turn on at all until the ambient temperature reaches a certain point; 60-65f I would guess.  Initially, your connections look correct but not knowing the rest of your system makes it difficult to determine.

Thank you for your reply. My unit is a Lennox model number ML14XP1-036-230A01. I looked it up this morning and it turns out it is a heat pump model, not sure if that makes a difference.

That is interesting, as your original thermostat is wired for a conventional system, not a heat pump. The orange wire would typically be in the O/B terminal, not the W terminal.

Take a picture of the terminal block on the air handler's control board and verify whether the orange wire is terminated. If it is terminated to an O, OB, B, or O/B terminal, you must swap the orange and white wires on the Nest thermostat.

What's the current temperature where you are located?

The Cooling will not turn on below a set temperature, as it can damage the compressor.

The current temperature outside is somewhere in the mid '70s right now. It's probably not damaged because I kept my old thermostat and actually reattached it this afternoon and it's doing fine.
