Hi
we just upgraded our HVAC system and we are using a Carrie infinity thermostat. I tried multiple time to link to google home but it states error. Is this a common problem? Looking online it states new version of the home app has this problem. What do u think can help? Thanks

Are you trying to setup carrier thermostat to Google Home App?

Yes, I want to link it to google home app.

Have you tried the selecting the + icon then selecting the set up option that says works with Google?

Yes… it initially says connected then
“something went wrong” no other explanation then Disconnects

Try uninstalling the app then.

If that's the case, I believe you'll have to call Google Home support to help you with this.

Hi Home119955,
That certainly hasn’t been easy for you ― let’s check it out. A few questions: was it working before? What are the Nest speakers linked to your Google Home app? Were you able to control your thermostat via voice command? Is it working on its native app? Also, what is the exact make and model of your thermostat to know if it’s compatible with Google Home?
It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first:
If you could unlink the thermostat from its app and link it back in. Once you’re able to control it, follow the steps below to link it to your Google Home app:
@eveluna, thanks for the help.
Kind regards,
Dan

Was it working before? No
What are the Nest speakers linked to your Google Home app? Multiple google home hub/speaker
Were you able to control your thermostat via voice command? No, it never connected, had the nest before
Is it working on its native app? Yes
Also, what is the exact make and model of your thermostat to know if it’s compatible with Google Home? Ion system control, ill get the model number.
It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first: Did but no help

I used my wife’s phone. It didn’t work either. I’m just gonna have to settle with the way it is I guess. Maybe an update for the carrier app will happen in the future. Thanks

Hi Home119955
Thanks for the response and sorry for the delay. It would also help you if you can contact the manufacturer directly. Partners are expected to support the integration of their products with Google Nest and Home devices.
Let us know if you have other questions or concerns; otherwise, we will be locking this thread after 24 hours.
